2 -FACTOR AUTHENTICATION DAY – 17TH MARCH 2025
Both nationally by the National Crime Agency (NCA), and locally through West Mercia Police, the 17th March 2025 is being promoted as 2-Factor Awareness Day to raise public awareness in protecting their online accounts.
2-Factor authentication (2FA) , also sometimes called Two-Step Verification (2SV) or Multi-Form Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security when signing into websites and online accounts.
So, it is an effective way to protect your online data and accounts, usually by text with a code to your mobile phone, or with biometrics such as your fingerprint or facial recognition, or an authentication app.
Further promotions will appear on social media and the mainstream media to keep you informed, but, in the meantime, the attached leaflet provides more details and can be circulated to your members and contacts.
